Megan Moore is a painter who lives and works in Minneapolis. Originally from Huntsville, AL, she received her BFA in Illustration from the Savannah College of Art in 2002 and moved to Minnesota. Moore works as an independent artist and freelance graphic designer. She is a member of NEMAA (Northeast Minneapolis Artist’s Association), LoLa (the League of Longfellow Artists), and Studiopolis (a nine-artist studio group at the Northrup King Building).
Moore has shown her paintings widely throughout the region. Her work has been awarded selection as cover art for NEMAA Directory (2014) and taken Best in Show at Highland Art Festival, St. Paul, MN (2010). She has collaborated in public art programs in the Twin Cities including Utility Box Art Wraps at Midtown Greenway, Minneapolis (2012) and the mural One Pillar Pagoda, St Paul (2012). Moore’s work has also been commissioned by private individuals and by businesses.
If you’re in the Twin Cities this weekend, consider taking in the opening of “Nature’s Forms” at the Seasons on St. Croix Gallery in the beautiful river town of Hudson, WI. Megan is one of three featured artists. The show runs through March 28th.

Artist’s Statement
My paintings are a study of color, form and composition—a contemplation of the beauty and balance found in nature. My study of illustration has a strong influence on my style, which is representational but not realistic. Art Nouveau and the Arts and Crafts Movement, which is sometimes cited as a prelude to Modernism, also influence my work.
Between the pandemic and the worldwide uprising for an end to racism, which started right in the neighborhood of Minneapolis where I live, it’s been a year of deep reflection and examination of priorities. 2020 taught me to slow down and take on the responsibility of understanding the world around me.
