by Geoffrey Ayers
I have become a cave
Man drawing on a
Limestone wall,
Mastodons and woolly mammoths.
The gimcrack art
Will crumble,
As foreseen.
But since that foretelling my heart beats faster.
Can I still
Peel myself
Back into
The sun?
Can anyone?
